On this, the 100th day of our How’s Nashville Campaign to house 200 people in 100 days, I want to GIVE THANKS. I am thankful for my colleagues and staff for their TIRELESS work and dedication to the lives they LOVE; the Open Table, Inc. Board of Directors for their excitement and gift of flexibility; the OTN Volunteers who are RIDICULOUS in their dedication & hard, HARD work; the incredible donors who have supported us through their monetary and in-kind gifts (you can STILL give at www.Opentablenashville.org); the faith communities who have prayed & partnered with us; the friends who have opened their lives to share with us as we’ve walked this journey and will CONTINUE to walk this journey together; the 100,000 Homes Campaign Staff who trained us to be a FIERCE team & have been available to help us trouble shoot along the way; the Nashville Metropolitan Homelessness Commission Board who has celebrated with us, encouraged us, and has helped open doors instead of sitting in a state of inertia; Metropolitan Development & Housing Agency, especially Mr.Norman Deep who has been a R O C K S T A R; Anderson Cooper & his stellar team at 60 Minutes for helping share the story of what it means to experience homelessness, for genuinely caring to tell the truth, and expressing WHY it’s SO important to house EACH One (stay tuned for airing details); for family and friends – each time you ask, “How are things going?”, it means the world! This lady could NOT be more thankful. Here’s to 100 +++ MORE days (after a vacation)!!! All my love and gratitude!!!
